South Africa ↔ Mozambique

The corridor's market.

Tell us what you need to buy. We find the supplier, check that they can actually deliver, put one landed price in front of you and settle the payment through Afrexpay.

AfrexMarket is a business-to-business sourcing and procurement market for trade between South Africa and Mozambique. It is not a catalogue you browse and hope. You state a requirement, our trade desk sources against it, and the commercial transaction is built for you - specification, supplier, price, freight, border, documents and payment held together as one record.

Three ways in

You need to buy

Post the requirement with the specification, quantity, destination and the date you need it. Our desk qualifies it and goes looking. You are not asked to find the supplier yourself.

For buyers

You can supply

Register what you actually hold or produce, in what volume, from where and in what lead time. We bring you requirements that already have a buyer, a quantity and a destination attached.

For suppliers

You need it settled

Once you accept a quotation, the order carries a payment reference into the Afrexpay environment. Rand or metical, with the rate that was actually applied kept on the record.

Payment and settlement

Not a catalogue. A trade desk with a market behind it.

A conventional marketplace has a cold-start problem. Buyers do not come because there are too few suppliers, and suppliers do not join because there are too few buyers. AfrexMarket starts from the other end: real buyer demand.

If a suitable registered supplier already exists, we go to them. If not, our procurement team sources one, verifies them to the level the transaction needs, completes the order and brings that supplier into the market for the next time. Every transaction makes the next one easier to match.

Technology carries the repeatable part. People carry the sourcing, the judgement and the exceptions.

From requirement to delivery

Requirement

You state the goods, specification, quantity, destination and required date. It is recorded as an RFQ and given a reference.

Sourcing

We qualify the request and identify suppliers who can meet it on capacity, compliance and delivery.

Quotation

You receive one buyer-facing quotation. Where it is a landed price, it carries the goods, freight, border costs, duties and charges.

Order

Acceptance creates an order with its own reference, linked to the quotation version you agreed.

Payment

The order raises a payment instruction into Afrexpay. Amount, currency, rate and status are recorded against the order.

Delivery

Collection, transport, border processing, clearing and delivery, with proof of delivery attached to the order.

14categories of tradable goods
2currencies: rand and metical
2working languages, equal status

What moves on this corridor

Fourteen categories, chosen because they are what actually crosses. If what you need is not listed, post it anyway - the market follows demand, not the other way round.

The money is part of the order, not an afterthought.

Most marketplaces hand you a supplier and disappear before the payment. AfrexMarket keeps the commercial record and the financial record joined, so the order knows what was paid, in what currency, at what rate and whether it settled.

AfrexMarket owns the commercial side: requirement, supplier, quotation, order, documents and fulfilment. Afrexpay provides the payment environment the money moves through. The two are deliberately separate systems with one shared reference.
